Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is an upcoming title from Atlus for the Nintendo 3DS. The release of this video has got me very excited for this title, and the unique story behind it! Story Mode in the game will have you encounter the thousand year old maiden and her mysterious past that could change the present and future of Etria. Classic mode will allow you scour through the dungeon’s and discover the truth behind the Yggdrasil Tree in an upgraded version of the original Etrian Odyssey adventure. This will feature 3D and gameplay improvements that were seen in Etrian Odyssey IV.
If you haven’t discovered it already, Pikmin 3 has a special feature in its game that allows you to take pictures while you’re playing. Your character takes out the camera, and you can see through the lens in a first person view, allowing you to see new angles, zoom in, and get a closer look at what your Pikmin around you are doing. You may have not noticed before, but your Pikmin are quite quirky! They may lounge around or sit, making for great photos you can take and post in Miiverse. I actually discovered this function by accident my first day, and took a really awkward picture upclose of one of my red Pikmin. They have such a simple design, but I think they look really amazing despite that in HD.
Nintendo would like to see what kind of pictures you guys are taking, and any funny captions you make with them! If you take a picture and caption, you can post it on Nintendo’s Wii U Facebook Page. Nintendo will highlight their favorites for everyone to see. With all the cute moments and scary monsters in Pikmin, I’m really interested to see what kind of pictures and captions people come up with.
If you’re an Animal Crossing fan like me, you are still extremely addicted to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I play still for a couple hours a day just to better my town, and build friendships with my villagers. And if you’re like me, you are FREAKING EXCITED for today’s Animal Crossing News! Animal Crossing Plaza launched today on the Wii U eShop for FREE to enhance your Animal Crossing: New Leaf experience. The Animal Crossing Plaza now gives you a place to talk about your town and experiences with other players around the world in an extremely user friendly (adorable) setting. You can upload photos you take in Animal Crossing as well as QR codes for outfits to organize in your own album, or to post for everyone to see on the Miiverse!
As the name suggests, the area looks like a cute town plaza! Here, you can see your Mii and walk around as him or her. You are the only mii it appears there, but if you look around you can see all the different kinds of Animal Crossing villagers walking around. Each one of those villagers actually represent different player’s experiences, as their words and drawings they made in the Miiverse that are related to those certain characters, are now expressed as that character in the Animal Crossing Plaza.
I personally can’t wait to see all the drawings here and stories people have about the villagers. I know I have my own personal favorites, and am trying to come up with some clever ideas for what to post. I hope that this grows so much that the Animal Crossing is densely populated with villagers!
If you don’t like this visual format, you can also just look at the history of what people posted for each character in the Miiverse, but who wouldn’t want to see the adorable villagers walking around telling stories?
This service will only be around until the end of 2014, so don’t put it off forever, or you might regret it! Look out for some of my doodles I’ll make in there, and I can’t wait to see yours!
Ever since I heard of the start of development on Hometown Story, I’ve been very excited! It’s a story where after the death of your grandmother, you inherit her shop in your hometown. After getting there however, you find out that it is completely run down, so you must turn it around for the better so people will shop there again. You will have the cute, flying fluffy Pochica to aid you in your journey, and introduce you to the unique characters who reside in the town. The villagers will even grow and change over time! Ahh, it’s so sweet and amazing, I love these types of games!
I have to admit though, I’ve had a lot of Harvest Moon on my mind, so much that I didn’t really pay much mind to the rest of the talent on the team. Today, I found out who some of that talent was, and I am AMAZED and SURPRISED that such a team has collaborated for this project!
The one that I’m most familiar with, Yasuhiro Wada, is the creator of the Harvest Moon series. Something you may have not known about his personal life is that he was actually raised in the countryside, but dreamed to one day move to the city to start making video games. After some time live in the city, he began to missed the country and the quiet simplicity of it, so he began crafting a game inspired by this.
Atsuko Nishida is behind the graphic stylings of Hometown Story. Has the art style looked familiar to you at all? Maybe it’s because she was actually behind numerous Pokemon designs, including the famous Pikachu! Not only did she design Pokemon, but also the cast of the show, such as Ash, Misty, and Brock. She’s added to her clever cute designs now, with the creation of Pochica, the cute flying fluffball that accompanies the main character in Hometown Story.
The sounds you will hear in Hometown Story will be courtesy of Nobuo Uematsu, known for his iconic sound in the Final Fantasy series. Did you know? Nobuo Uematsu actually never dreamed of being a full-time artist, but he has used his self-taught skills, not only in Final Fantasy, but in bands such as The Black Mages and the Earthbound Papas.
“We’re excited and privileged to be working with so many giants of the video game industry, and can’t wait to see what players think of the game,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume Inc. “With Hometown Story’s release coming up quickly, our fans won’t have to wait long to experience a very unique game!”
This is the greatest thing I’ve seen all week, and I really don’t know why. Is it because I’m tired? Am I just crazy? I don’t know.. Either way, this is the greatest Pokemon interpretation I’ve seen in a while.
